![]() A third colour is produced where the screen overlap. Created from my original pen and ink drawing which is then used to produce a hand pulled screen print with two separate overlapping screens of teal and deep orange using water based inks onto smooth Somerset Satin, traditional white printmaking paper 330gms, mould made from 100% cotton which shows the colours and the print to a high quality. Memoirs of a Geisha was written by Arthur Golden. ![]() With this project I aim to engage those who have read the titles and may recognise familiar imagery relating to their consciousness and memory of the novel and it’s themes, as well as too inspire those who have not read the books to do so, perhaps others will wonder ‘what the hell was was I thinking’! The next stage of the project after drawing the books ‘blind’ is to actually read them. ![]() "Memoirs of a Geisha" is part of my "Books I've Never Read" series, which takes classic, acclaimed book titles, ranging from the cult to the popular- those books which I feels I ‘really should have read’-and attempts to interpret their themes and narratives based on reading only the back-cover blurb. ![]()
